Classical Dance Academy will be performing an abridged version of The Nutcracker this year! Originally performed in 1892, The Nutcracker has become a family tradition for the Holidays. Our version will include new choreography and a shortened runtime.

Audition Information

Saturday September 14, 2024
3-4 pm All dancers 4-10 years old
4:30-6:00 pm All dancers 11 years old and up

Auditions are open to the general public, with casting for all roles. Dancers will receive notification of casting on Sunday September 15. Rehearsals begin on September 21. All rehearsals in September and October will occur on Saturdays during class time and from 3-6pm. Rehearsals during November will also be held from 3-6 on Sundays. Weekly schedules will be posted one week prior. Not all dancers will be called to every rehearsal.

Dancers who accept a role in The Nutcracker must commit to attending all rehearsals and be registered for at least one class with Classical Dance Academy while they are performing with the school. Saturday classes are recommended. There is no additional audition or performance fee for participating dancers.

Each participating family will receive two complimentary tickets to the performances.
